Hedge Boundaries

Hedges border many areas at the Enchanted Maze Garden, Arthurs Seat.
In the foreground is a hedge garden border and in the background is part of the hedge bordering a maze.

Pretty Gate

Pretty gate on a farm property at Balnarring

The gate seems to complement the lovely view out to Westernport Bay

Mailbox Board

This free standing mailbox at Balnarring seems to be part of the garden design.

Different Levels

At first, this Balnarring gate appears to be a simply designed.
But I realised that I have rarely seen an iron gate peaked in this way.
And further, each second bottom grid of the gate only reaches half way.

Either side of the gate, the brick fence is at two different levels.

Stonework becomes a fence feature for this sign outside a unit complex at balnarring.

Leafy Balcony Boundary

Unusual design for a balcony boundary at Balnarring.
The leaf features glow enchantingly in the sunlight.

Black and Warm Woods

The black of this iron gate at Balnarring becomes quite a dramatic contrast with
the earthy warm woods of the fence line.

Buried in Leaves

This Balnnaring mailbox is becoming a little dwarfed by its frame of leaves.
It is styled like a mini wishing well.

Only One White Post

This mailbox at Balnarring is an interesting design.
But specifically, that design rests on two very different supports.

Duck Ramp?

Not sure how this boundary leading to a small pond at Red Hill may be used - or why.
(A special duck ramp?)
But it's scenic.

Trapped

Mailbox at Balnarring built tightly in the low fork of a tree.
(At least, it seems to be one tree rather than two)

Mailbox Sculpture

This is a vintage mailbox - about 1912 - at Mornington.
Gwen Bridges-Mulder created the accompanying bronze sculpture of a little girl.
The commissioned sculpture commemorates the 150th anniversary
of gazetting Mornington as a township - 1862-2012.
Yet plaque says 1861?

Many children like to be photographed with this little girl.

Mix and Match

One of the newer fence, gate and mailbox styles - complementing each other -  in Dromana

Friday, 1 November 2013

It's on the way...

Another old home in Dromana with a strange fence line.

And the mailbox seems to have been added later.
